Have you served in the Armed Forces including National Service?

Age UK Enfield has launched a Veteran Support Project, a new service which supports anyone who has served in the Armed Forces or National Service and their families.

Funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, the 2 year project will support Veterans living in Enfield to reduce isolation and loneliness. The project will run fortnightly social and physical activity groups on Zoom and in-person (restrictions allowing) supporting people to make friends, be physically and mentally active and linking them to local activities and services.

‘This is a really exciting project to be involved with and compliments the 6 months Veteran Support Project Age UK Enfield ran last year. Loneliness and social isolation is an issue for many Veterans living in Enfield, more so with the pandemic and this project is a wonderful opportunity to begin to address this issue and offer support. The project will give Veterans and their families the opportunity to meet other people in a friendly, social environment, take part in physical activity if they wish and link with Age UK Enfield and other local services. We can support anyone who has completed at least one day of military service including National Service, and are hoping to offer our support to many people over 50 in Enfield’.

To be eligible for this service, the person needs to be a Veteran (anyone who has completed at least 1 day of military service) and be 50+ or be a close family member of a Veteran
