Homeshare - New Service

Published on 06 July 2026 06:30 AM

Two Generations, a specialist UK Homeshare provider, is working with Age UK Enfield, to bring its home-sharing scheme to older residents across the county, offering a new way to combat isolation while helping people remain independent at home for longer.

The service matches an older person who has a spare room with someone seeking affordable accommodation, in exchange for companionship, overnight reassurance and up to 10 hours of light practical support a week. It is not a care service, but a managed living arrangement built on trust, designed to build connection and improve wellbeing for both parties.

Both the Householder and the Homesharer pay a monthly fee to Two Generations, which covers the matching process and ongoing support throughout the arrangement.

Loneliness among older people is a growing concern in London, and Enfield is no exception. More older residents are living alone than ever, many without the daily connection and reassurance that makes a meaningful difference to wellbeing. Homeshare offers something distinct from a visit or a phone call: a person living in the home itself, providing presence, companionship and practical help day to day.

Every arrangement is fully managed by Two Generations, from enhanced DBS and identity checks through to careful matching and ongoing safeguarding support, giving families confidence in the process from introduction to move-in and beyond.
