New Co-Chairs appointed

We are delighted to announce that Sandra Kirwan and Elaine Adkin have been appointed co-chairs of Age UK Enfield (AUKE).

Sandra joined the trustee board in 2016. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise from her work as an information and advice volunteer, and has a broad knowledge of the organisation, having served as Vice Chair for three years.

Elaine is a management consultant with considerable expertise in strategy and transformation, as well as working with charities who support older people. She spent five years as a trustee of Age UK Haringey, and she is the Haringey Ambassador for Independent Age. Elaine is also a volunteer befriender.

Sandra said, “Having served as vice chair, I’m thrilled to be taking the role of chair alongside Elaine. It’s been a tough year for everyone but I’m proud of our achievements through the pandemic as we continue to provide essential support to older people in Enfield.”

Elaine added, “It’s a pleasure to be joining AUKE as co-chair. I’m enjoying working alongside Sandra, the rest of the board and everyone else at the charity. I’m so impressed by what I’ve seen so far – there’s clearly so much on which AUKE can build and I look forward to being part of that in 2021 and beyond.”
