Mrs. F was referred to one of our Nutrition Support Workers (NSW) through her dietician who had concerns for Mrs. F’s mental and physical wellbeing.

Parkinson’s disease is something that Mrs. F has recently been learning to live with, along with having a gall bladder operation earlier this year.

Although she has brilliant family support, she has been feeling low as she ‘can no longer go out alone’, making her ‘irritable’ with her family and not good company to be around. Mrs. F was referred to one of our Nutrition Support Workers (NSW) through her dietician who had concerns for Mrs. F’s mental and physical wellbeing due to Mrs. F reporting that she had been feeling isolated and lonely.”

After meeting with Mrs. F to discuss her situation, the NSW noticed that Mrs. F lives very close to a local Lunch Club. With the hope to make Mrs. F feel less isolated and lonely, the NSW offered her a trial at the local lunch club – what a success!

Since attending the trial Mrs. F attends once a week, and has been ‘feeling much happier’ within herself.
