Volunteer Health Champion
Location: Lancaster/Morecambe/Carnforth
Hours: Flexible
We do not expect a minimum time commitment from any volunteer, however a minimum committment of 3hrs a week would be preferable.
Are you someone who loves connecting with people and making a positive impact in your community? Age UK Lancashire is looking for friendly, compassionate volunteers to become Health Champions in Lancaster, Morecambe, and Carnforth.
What You’ll Do
As a Health Champion, you’ll be a vital link between local services and the people who need them most. You’ll be involved in:
- Hosting drop-in sessions at GP surgeries, community centres, and local hubs
- Chatting with individuals at risk of poor health and guide them to support services
- Signposting to social groups, carers’ networks, and condition-specific support
- Helping people overcome barriers like transport and accessibility
- Referring individuals to Age UK Lancashire’s Living Well Support Service for tailored support or arrange check-in phone calls to help people stay engaged and informed
Full Training Provided
You don’t need a background in healthcare— if our Organisations Values align with your own and you have a genuine willingness to help, we’ll give you all the training and support you need to feel confident in your role.
