Latest News and Information

With reference to the article in Civil Society today (7th April) we wanted to make it clear that it is the national Age UK who are furloughing 70% of their staff, not Age UK Lancashire.

At Age UK Lancashire we have been working very hard to re-assign as many of our staff team as possible so we can deliver an enhanced range of vital, frontline services to older people across the county, as we are needed now more than ever. These include:

  • Support at home including shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • Taking people home from hospital and helping them to settle
  • Good Day Calls – a phone call every day, 7 days per week
  • Information and Advice
  • Dementia support for those living with dementia and their carers

Age UK Lancashire has actually only furloughed a very small number of our staff team (13%), the majority of whom work in our charity shops and administrative functions.

We are here to support the older people of Lancashire and their carers throughout the Covid19 pandemic and beyond. #LoyalToLancashire
