Salary: £22467.50 FTE (£12.34ph)

The Job:
Age UK Lancashire provides a Day Club service across the county for older people.
The service is based in local centre’s where older adults attend, providing opportunities for older adults to be involved in stimulating activities that enable them to live independently at home by learning or maintaining daily living skills and to remain a part of their local community for as long as possible.
Day Clubs staff empower individuals, are caring and compassionate, and ensure that service users are safe and have access to a wide range of meaningful activities and support.
Support Workers are appointed as a keyworker for a small group of individuals, usually within a day centre environment and via outreach visits in certain circumstances. You’ll get to know each individual and working with them and their carers or families, developing a support plan to ensure that their needs are met.
About you:
- You will be committed to delivering person-centred care and support, in a flexible and engaging way.
- You will have great communication skills, both verbal and written.
- You will have experience working in either health, education, social services or the community and voluntary sector.
- It would be great if you have an awareness and understanding of the needs of older people and the services available to support them.
- Experience in providing personal care and delivering activities is advantageous.
- You will work well as part of a team and independently.
This is a very rewarding role and suitable for those with experience of working with older adults in a one to one and group environment with a range of needs including dementia.
Full training will be provided.
