Are you caring for someone with dementia?
Are you worried about a loved one/family member/friend?
If so, then you are in the right place.
At Age UK Lancashire we are committed to improving the lives of people living with dementia in our County. We offer a range of support that empowers those with the condition to live well, for as long as possible.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST)
A FREE 14-week programme for people with mild to moderate dementia, designed with the aim of maintaining/improving an individual’s cognitive function (memory and thinking) as well as boost mood and improve social connections.
Delivered to groups of 8 people over 2 hours each week, the sessions consist of specially selected, ‘themed’ activities that not only engage participants but help stimulate thinking, memory and connection, including creative, musical, physical activities, topical discussions and word/number games.
CST is the only non-clinical intervention that is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as being effective in the management of dementia, irrespective of drug treatments received.
You can make a referral by contacting us using the details at the bottom of this page.
