Most of us will need some help with legal matters at some point in our lives. We offer FREE 20-minute Telephone appointments with a local Solicitor to help you understand your legal rights, or plan for the future with lasting power of attorney and wills.

Around 54% of adults do not have a will or have one that is out of date meaning their assets may not be managed in the way they want!

How we can help you understand your rights

The appointments are available every Wednesday and our Solicitors can advise on.

- Court of Protection

- Lasting Powers of Attorney

- Wills & Probate

- Trusts and administration of Estates

- Lifetime Planning

We collaborate with local solicitors who are on the Older Peoples Forum to provide this free service.

Booking is essential, so we can place you with the most appropriate solicitor for your query – please call or email for an appointment.

Our solicitors can only provide help with the above categories, unfortunately they cannot help with Family Law or Property Law. If you need either, please contact us and we can help direct you to the right place.

Age UK Norwich does not provide ongoing legal representation. Case Management costs outside of the initial free appointment are chargeable and private between the client and the solicitor.

Lasting Power of Attorney

No-one likes to think about the worst happening, but having plans in place to manage your health and/or financial affairs is critical to making sure your wishes are known and respected. Lasting Power of Attorneys are a legal document that empowers someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf, if you were unable to in the event of an incapacitating illness, accident or injury. This removes complexity and unnecessary legal delays, which can happen if you are unable to make a decision, or unable to sign relevant paperwork.

Lifetime Planning

Getting organised now means you can feel confident that the care and support you receive in the future will be right for you, and your affairs will be managed in the way you wish.

Building your will

The Age UK national website provides a free guide to creating your will. A will is the only way to make sure your money, property, possessions and investments go to the people and causes you care about.
