Celebrating volunteering this Volunteers’ Week
Published on 01 June 2026 11:40 AM
This Volunteers’ Week, we are proud to celebrate the incredible contribution of our volunteers and the difference they make across Oxfordshire.
From offering a friendly conversation to providing practical support, our volunteers bring kindness, time and compassion to older people and unpaid carers throughout our community. Their dedication helps reduce loneliness, promote independence and create stronger, more connected communities.
Over the past year, our volunteers have offered reassurance, companionship and vital help when it is needed most. Every conversation, visit and act of support makes a real and lasting impact — and we simply couldn’t do this work without them.
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our volunteers.
Could you volunteer with us?
Volunteers’ Week is also a chance to highlight the many ways people can get involved. Whether you can spare a little time each week or want to support on a more flexible basis, there are lots of rewarding opportunities available.
Volunteering is a great way to:
- Make a meaningful difference in your community
- Meet new people and build connections
- Share your skills and experiences
- Boost your confidence and wellbeing
Whatever your background or availability, there is a role to suit you.
