What we can do to help older people on their journey into Later Life
People can choose to use whichever services they want, as no professional referral is needed to access them.
However, if you feel your client cannot self refer, you can use one of the following forms and we will be in contact.
Age UK Plymouth exists to care for and work with older people and their carers in and around the City of Plymouth to improve their quality of life through the promotion of choice, opportunity and independence.
We offer a range of services to help older people feel more included in the community. Our current aim is to try and tackle loneliness in the Plymouth area through our Mount Gold Day Centre and recurring activities at the William Venton Centre. All events are open to anyone over the age of 50.
We also offer a free information and advice service where we are a partner in the universal city wide Advice Plymouth. Support can cover:
- Benefits health check for people who may be eligible to receive benefits.
- Housing worries
- 'Money Matters'
- Form filling such as benefits
Home and Community Support is likewise an important aspect of Age UK Plymouth, helping to keep older people independant in their own home.
