Please note that we have made the difficult decision to close our Help at Home service, with the final day of operation being Wednesday 25 June 2025.

Information For Existing Clients

The service will continue to run until Wednesday 25th June 2025. We will continue to provide services until this time. However, please be advised that colleagues may choose to leave our employment before this time. Where possible we will provide cover as we currently do, but it may become necessary to end some services sooner in these circumstances. In any such case you will be contacted directly by a member of the team who will discuss this with you.

We understand that there are many long-standing relationships between our colleagues and our clients. Some of our colleagues will choose to continue providing similar services on a self-employed basis. They will inform you of this during their regular visits if they can offer to provide a private service. Any services delivered beyond 25th June 2025 will be independent of Age UK Plymouth. Please be assured that your personal information will not be shared with these colleagues beyond the end of their employment, and your information will not be shared with any other organisations or providers.

Further information will accompany your May invoice, and this will detail when final invoices will be received and the date that last direct debit payment will be taken.

Should you wish to terminate your service before the service closes, then there shall be no notice period required to do so. Please contact the office on 01752 256 020 or email enquiries@ageukplymouth.org.uk.

As our services are invoiced in arrears, we ask kindly that direct debits are not cancelled until after your last invoice is received and settled.

Alternative Services Available

We appreciate that this news will be unsettling to our clients. As well as some of our colleagues establishing self-employed businesses, we also recommend using the Buy With Confidence website to identify Trading Standards approved businesses which can provide on-going services (www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk).

If you already receive other care or support from another provider, we recommend contacting this company to enquire about home care services. Many providers also offer services like those provided by Age UK Plymouth’s Help at Home service.

A comprehensive directory of home care providers can be found at www.homecare.co.uk. Please be advised that listings on this website are not approved or vetted suppliers that are being recommended by Age UK Plymouth.

Thank You

Thank you for your continue support of Age UK Plymouth during your time receiving the Help at Home service. We regret that we will not be able to continue supporting you through this service but do hope that other Age UK Plymouth services may be of support to you when required.
