Day centre welcome Pride Fund grant

The volunteer organisers of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s St Georges day centre are delighted to receive another £400 grant from the Telford and Wrekin Councillors’ Pride Fund.

The fund provides ward members with the opportunity to allocate money towards improvements or projects within their ward.

It has been a tough time for St Georges day centre; closed throughout the pandemic, now volunteer organisers have bounced back and the group is thriving, with members meeting every week for various activities, socialising and entertainment.

The day centre decided to use some of the funding to treat their members to a lovely lunch at The White House in Muxton, which everyone enjoyed thoroughly.

The day centre members and volunteers would like to thank Councillors Richard Overton (Chair of St Georges and Priorslee Parish Council) and David Wright (Councillor for St Georges) for nominating them for the grant.
