Laughs galore on the way

Steve Royle, star of Britain’s Got Talent 2020 and regular headline act at The Comedy Store, has joined the line-up of our popular annual variety show for older people in Telford.
After a two-year postponement, Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin now have tickets on sale for their much-loved Afternoon of Entertainment variety show. Aimed at the over 60s living in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, we promise a fun afternoon of live music and comedy.
The star-studded event will take place at The Place Theatre in Oakengates on Tuesday 20 September 2022. The theme of this year’s show is to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year and encourage everyone to dress up in their best red, white and blue outfits.
This year the extravaganza promises fun and laughter for all and has something for everyone. Alongside Steve Royle, the line-up features Black Country stars The Fizzogs, comedy couple Dandy Duo and music from a cappella group Men in Harmony.
Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘We have missed this event so much and we hope everyone is excited as we are for its return. It’s a highlight of our calendar and we hope older people across Telford and Shropshire come along and enjoy an afternoon full of music, dance and comedy.’
