Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin have given their variety show for older people a fresh, fun-loving look for its return to Telford Theatre later this month.

Zany comedy, outrageous costumes and popular singing groups will all be in the mix for this year’s entertainment extravaganza.

Britain’s Got Talent comedian Steve Royle, Black Country stars The Fizzogs, a cappella group Men in Harmony and local community choir The Darby Singers will be joined by the flamboyant, multi-award-winning comic Ada Campe, known for her extravagantly fancy headdresses, her outlandish eye make-up and her eccentric flights of fancy.

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin are putting on The Afternoon of Entertainment at Telford Theatre in Oakengates on Tuesday 16 May 2023, from 2.00pm.

‘We have missed this annual event so much during the COVID lockdown period and we hope everyone is as excited as we are for its return,’ said Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.

‘It’s a highlight of our calendar and we hope older people across Telford and Shropshire come along and enjoy an afternoon full of music, dance and comedy. This time we have some completely new acts and we feel this gives the show a truly fresh and fun-loving look.’
