Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s new yoga class for older people promises to bring participants greater flexibility, more energy and a sense of wellbeing.

‘We’re aiming to help people rediscover the use of those muscles required for good posture,’ says Alison Clowes, the instructor who will be running the class on behalf of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.

Alison adds: ‘The classes will help people to breathe properly and thereby provide more energy for daily living. We also aim to strengthen muscles and increase flexibility for everyday benefit. Yoga is a box of tools to enable a better physical and mental state, a genuine sense of wellbeing.’

The weekly classes start on Thursday 4 May at Bomere Heath Village Hall and there will be time for the group to enjoy refreshments after each class.

Energize Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, a local charity that helps create conditions for more active lifestyles, provided a grant to support the new class.
