Warm welcome at dementia support groups

A warm welcome is promised to new members joining Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s dementia support groups based in Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
The groups are for local people with dementia or memory difficulties, along with their families, carers and friends. They offer emotional support and information in a friendly social environment, so people can share experiences in a relaxed atmosphere and make new friends.
Currently, the Shrewsbury groups in Monkmoor and Copthorne, and the Bridgnorth group are welcoming new members.
‘We know that these groups can make a massive difference to people’s sense of wellbeing, giving them the chance to meet new people, enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit, perhaps play games and just have a change of scenery,’ said Emma Wilde, Wellbeing Services Manager at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.
