With the cold days still very much around, Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin has donated a wealth of woolly hats to older people across the county.

As part of last year’s St Chad’s Christmas Tree Festival, Castelfields Yarn Bombing Crew created over 130 hats to decorate a Christmas tree with a difference for Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin. Following the festival, the yarn bombers gave the hats to Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin and Shrewsbury Ark, so that they would be of lasting benefit.

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin has donated its share of the lovingly knitted hats, in every colour imaginable, to members of our Shropshire day centres.

‘The older people we support really appreciate these amazing hats that Castelfields Yarn Bombing Crew created,’ said Emma Wilde, Wellbeing Support Manager. ‘The hats are in all sizes and all colours and so there’s something for everyone. We’re thrilled to have them.’
