Need advice about avoiding online scams?

Cyber crime experts have teamed up with Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin to provide free advice on staying safe online.

Are you concerned about computer scams? Worried about your information getting into the wrong hands? A free advice and information day at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s office in Shrewsbury could put your mind at rest.

Available to answer any questions you may have will be Police Constable Rebecca Smith, a Cyber Protect, Prepare and Prevent Officer, and Ben Deacon, Public Protection Technical Officer for Scams, at Trading Standards.

‘This will be great opportunity for us to discuss all of the things that we do at Trading Standards and to answer questions from the public, and it’s great to be working alongside the police on this,’ said Mr Deacon.

So if you have any questions about how to avoid scams and cyber crime, or how to stay safe online, why not pop along to the Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin offices at Bellstone, Shrewsbury, between 10.00am–2.00pm on Wednesday 7 February.
