Festive volunteering opportunities
We are looking for volunteers to help with some of our activities over the festive period, to help ensure older people feel remembered and valued this Christmas and beyond.
Bucket collections
We are looking for volunteers to collect donations in buckets for a couple of hours at the following events:
Solihull town centre carol singing
Saturday 21 November
Timings tbc
Collect donations on the High Street while local choirs perform festive songs.
Santa Runs
Join Shirley Lions with their Santa Sleigh, spreading festive cheer through the streets of Shirley and collecting donations from residents.
We're looking for volunteers on the following evenings:
Tuesday 8 December
Wednesday 16 December
Timings are tbc but it is likely to be around 6.15-8.15pm for both evenings.
Christmas Fayres
Represent Age UK Solihull on a stand at a local Christmas Fayre. You will help raise funds by selling Christmas cards and raffle tickets, and possibly running another fundraising activity.
We are currently looking for volunteers for the following events:
Fountains Christmas Fayre
Fountains Care Home, 1355 Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull, B90 4EF
Friday 4 December
5.30-7.30pm
AD Band Christmas Concert
AD Concert Band are kindly raising funds for us with their Christmas concert, and we are looking for volunteers to help with refreshments and transport.
Saturday 5 December
2.30-4.30/5.45pm
St Philips Church, Dorridge, B93 8DX
Volunteers will help with welcoming attendees, serving refreshments and generally helping things run smoothly. Some volunteers will be needed to help clear up at the end, and some may be able to leave after the interval around 4.30pm if we have enough offers of help.

Gift wrapping
We are looking for volunteers to wrap gifts for us to give out at our Christmas parties for lonely or isolated older people.
Timings tbc but likely an afternoon w/c 23 November.
Help raise funds
If you have colleagues, customers, residents, friends, family, neighbours or others in your network who you could sell our Christmas cards or raffle tickets to, we would be most grateful for your support!
