Ride for a reason - raise money for Age UK Surrey!

Join us on Saturday, 9 May, for the Surrey Hills Classic.

We are excited to announce that we have spaces in the Surrey Hills Classic - a cycling event that truly lives up to its name. Whether you're chasing a challenge or simply looking to enjoy an unforgettable ride through the amazing Surrey landscape, this event offers something for everyone.

Take on the Long or Middle Route and conquer Leith Hill, the highest point in Southern England at 294m. Riders on the Long Route will also face the legendary Box Hill, a bucket-list climb that promises a rewarding test for experienced cyclists.

New to cycling? You are welcome here too. The Short Route covers just over 50km with around 500m of climbing, making it the perfect introduction to the beauty of the Surrey Hills for beginners and casual riders alike.

No matter which route you choose, you’ll ride through some of Surrey’s most stunning landscapes - from rolling chalk downs and open grasslands to ancient woodlands and picturesque heathland - making it the perfect day out on two wheels! Click here for more information on routes and timings.

Every mile you cover will help Age UK Surrey provide life-changing support and services to older people.

Together, we can go the distance.

How to register

Fancy riding this event for £10? If you can pledge to raise £100 or more for Age UK Surrey, you only have to pay a £10 entry fee to enter this event. You will get a free T-shirt and a goodie bag, too! Once registered, you will be able to set up your own fundraising page.

Why cycle for Age UK Surrey

You will be supporting our vision for every older person in Surrey to live well and make the most of later life.  There are over 220,000 people aged 65+ in Surrey, over 14,000 people living on pension credit (a measure of poverty) and 89% of those without a partner, which means they do not have a dual income.  Surrey has an ageing population - it is estimated that 17,700 people are living with dementia in the county, and the number of one-person households aged 66+ is increasing.

We deliver services that help tackle loneliness, provide impartial and confidential advice as well as ensuring people have the benefits they are entitled to, boosting income, and we deliver a growing number of specialist services and activities for people with dementia and their carers.

With pressure on health and social care, our services are needed more than ever and demand for them is increasing.

Together, let's make a difference.
