To support the Age UK Westminster Befriending and Post-Hospital Discharge teams with vital administrative tasks that enable effective delivery of services to older people. This role helps ensure that older people receive timely companionship and support following hospital stays or of loneliness and isolation. 

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Administrative Support
  • Input and maintain accurate client and volunteer records on internal CRM databases  
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, calls, and follow-ups between service users and volunteers 
  • Support the coordination of volunteer-client matches based on availability and preferences 
  • Help prepare and send information packs, letters, or materials to clients and volunteers 
  • Ensure confidentiality and data protection policies are always followed 
  1. Communication
  • Make or receive telephone calls to service users and volunteers to confirm details or gather relevant information 
  • Support with follow-up calls post-hospital discharge to check on client wellbeing and collect feedback 
  • Liaise with Wellbeing and Connections team and other AUKW services to ensure smooth service delivery 
  1. General Duties
  • Attend volunteer meetings or training sessions as required 
  • Provide feedback to the Wellbeing and Connections manager on any issues or concerns arising from client or volunteer interactions 
  • Promote our values and aims of Age UK Westminster in all duties 

Person Specification 

Essential 

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, email) 
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Empathetic and sensitive to the needs of older people 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Reliability and punctuality 

Desirable 

  • Previous admin or customer service experience 
  • Experience working with older people or in the voluntary sector 
  • Understanding of data protection and safeguarding principles
