AGM 2022

Published on 24 January 2022 09:20 AM

Many of you will remember previous AGMs that we held face to face in the Priory Street Centre with lunch, entertainment and a guest speaker. With Covid restrictions the Trustees held the AGM on 10 January via Zoom when we were glad to welcome a mix of staff and volunteers for a much shorter AGM.

This year our Chair of Trustees Rosemary Suttill, gave a combined CEO and Chair's report since Jennifer Allott, our previous CEO, had resigned at the beginning of November. Our Treasurer, Colin Packer, explained our financial situation which is now very positive as we've sold 68/70 Walmgate while our joint CEOs, Jo Bell and Valerie Bowden, had only been in post since November so were invited to give brief reports.

One thing that didn't change was the number of volunteers to whom we were able to present long service certificates with our thanks. Our Deputy Chair, Howard Widdall, read out the long list of names. When we all meet together the certificates of long service are presented and photos are taken. This year, the certificates will have to go in the post. The Ella Batters Award for the longest serving volunteer this year went to Anna Sharp so she also receives a voucher. On a sadder note, Howard recorded the death of Joe West who died in December. Joe had been a Trustee and also a volunteer with In Safe Hands. We sent our condolences to Joe's wife and family.
