Information and Advice Funding

Age UK York celebrates after receiving National Lottery funding to help continue the Information and Advice service.
The funding will contribute towards the running of the vital Information and Advice service which covers a wide range of topics including household matters, transport, social care options/funding, money and benefits. The helpline supports thousands of people each year including taking live phone calls offering immediate help to wider outreach and home visit support in helping to make this crucial service as accessible as possible to older people and those around them.
The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest community funder in the UK, will enable this service to continue to help thousands of older people in the community. Last year alone, the Information and Advice team helped local older people collectively access over £600,000 of unclaimed benefits – and an even higher figure expected this year.
