Winter Campaign - Together lets Stamp Out Loneliness in York
Stamp Out Loneliness
Each day here across York many older people struggle with loneliness, social isolation and poverty and this winter their needs will only increase. In York more than one in four of residents have shared that they experience loneliness and across our City a third of older people live alone. Sadly thousands of older people also experience financial insecurity including poverty.

As Age UK York we exist to tackle these challenges. We believe York's ageing population is something to celebrate and for over 50 years our local team has been here help older older people and those around them and we aim to be the first port of call for anyone with an age-related need. We cannot though do it alone. We need your help and trust. Our call for action is to raise funds so that we can continue to offer friendship, support at home and vital information and advice including on claiming entitled benefits which can make every difference in combating the daily real question for many in winter of heating or eating.
Every single penny raised will go to supporting local people in York.
Every person matters. Our wonderful team of staff and volunteers tackle these scourges of loneliness, isolation and poverty each day providing an array of services, a helping hand and a listening ear.
You can play a crucial role in our story, and those we help, by kindly supporting our local charity and the difference we can make. Together.

One in five pensioners in Yorkshire are in poverty including many here in York
Poverty affects too many older people here in York. Since 2012 over 300,000 more older people have fallen into poverty in England.
In York many older people do not claim life changing benefits to which they are entitled and in winter face the very real decision of heating or eating. Our dedicated team help local people each day and helped claim £1 million in unclaimed benefits making a life changing difference right here in York.
Please help us be there tomorrow.
