Social Clubs

- Location: Age UK York
- Price: Costs may vary
Our Social Clubs have been reintroduced with a new model to help us cover the costs of running whilst keeping the small fee down as low as we can to ensure our Social Clubs remain open to all across York. The price per session is £10 with optional transport providing door-to-door service at £12 return with a £2 supplement if you live outside the outer ring road and attend a club within the inner ring road. These prices help but do not cover the costs of running the service though we want to make sure they remain affordable to local people recognising the challenges many face.

We are delighted to have reintroduced our Social Clubs and continue to grow with thanks to vital funding and support from supporters. For 2025 we have been able to increase the number of places available for local benefit to join a Social Club near them. Please get in touch today to find out more
For over 30 years Age UK York’s friendly and caring team have run this important service for local residents to attend and enjoy. The Social Clubs are a great place to meet other people aged 55 and over and are tailored to the interests of those attending with every member a valued part of the group.
We offer a range of activities including quizzes, crafts, games, chair exercises, visiting speakers, entertainers and more. Those in our groups enjoy time with others and refreshments too.
We have places now available at our following weekly Social Clubs:
Tuesday in Acomb (AM)
Wednesday in Tang Hall (AM) and Heworth (PM)
Transport can also be available to and from the Clubs.
Social Clubs run in the morning between 09.45 – 12.00 and from 1.30 pm – 4pm during the afternoon. Each place is just £10.
