Digital inclusion volunteer
Help people connect, learn and thrive
At Age UK Bolton, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of the digital world, regardless of their age or previous experience with technology.
Technology can help people stay in touch with loved ones, access services, manage their wellbeing, discover new interests and maintain their independence. Yet many older people lack the confidence, knowledge or support needed to make the most of these opportunities.
As a Digital Inclusion Volunteer, you'll help change that.
Whether you're supporting someone in our welcoming Digital Den, assisting at community sessions, or helping people in their own homes, you'll play a vital role in helping older people feel more confident, connected and empowered through technology.
Every new skill learned, every successful video call, and every boost in confidence can make a real difference to someone's life.
About the role
This is a rewarding and varied volunteer opportunity where no two days are the same.
You might help someone send their first email, learn how to use a smartphone, access online services, connect with family through video calls, or understand how to stay safe online.
More importantly, you'll provide encouragement, patience and reassurance, helping people develop confidence at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
You'll be joining a friendly and supportive team committed to reducing digital exclusion and helping older people live healthier, happier and more connected lives.
