Selecting a reliable, trustworthy builder or trades person can be a risky business at any age. This is why Age UK Bradford District want to help you make an informed choice with our Trusted Trader Scheme.

What is the Trusted Trader Scheme?

The Trusted Trader Scheme has been developed by Age UK Bradford District to help make life easier for older people, their carers, families and friends who are looking for products and person centred services. We work in partnership with local tradesmen, contractors and companies to connect you with reliable and trustworthy providers.

Why use the Trusted Trader Scheme?

In developing the Trusted Trader's Scheme, Age UK Bradford District has tried to remove some of the risk involved in finding a reliable contractor/company to carry out works.

We perform regulatory checks on all our registered traders, contractors and companies detailed in our database. We also ask that all participants registered with the scheme sign up to our Trusted Trader Charter.

We ensure all traders, contractors and companies participating in the Trusted Trader Scheme have the following:

  • A current Public Liability Insurance Certificate
  • Can provide two references from satisfied customers
  • Declaration of criminal convictions and a basic disclosure check is carried out before registration on to the scheme is accepted
  • Any relevant registration with regulatory bodies or relevant certifications associated with the services offered
  • Have undergone and interview with the Help at Home Co-ordinator

Our Trusted Trader Database can be viewed via the link below or you can request a paper copy by calling the Customer Service Team on 01274 391190.

Can't find what you need?

If you need support or a service that is not listed in our database, please let us know. We are always interested to understand what people need so that we can improve our offering.

Are you a trustworthy trader?

If you are a trustworthy local trader, contractor or business there are many benefits to being part of our Database. It is a great way to advertise your business and support your local community.

The cost for registration on the Database is £200 (plus VAT) per year. All funds generated by the Database go towards supporting our work with older people across Bradford District.

If you would like more information or to understand more about joining the scheme please call 01274 391190 or email info@ageukbd.org.uk
