Bristol Cabot Choir raising funds for Age UK Bristol

Published on 27 November 2018 09:54 AM

The Bristol Cabot Choir is kicking off their holiday season with Christmas with Handel’s Messiah concert on Monday 10th December. This is also the start of Age UK Bristol’s year-long partnership with the Bristol Cabot Choir, as we’ve been chosen as their charity of the year. Join us at the Bristol Cathedra, doors open at 6.45pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm.

Their Christmas concert will include excerpts from the Messiah followed by Eric Whitacre’s luminous Lux Aurumque and carols for the Choir and the audience. The Conductor on the evening will be Rebecca Holdeman.

We feel privileged to be working with the Cabot Choir in the next coming months. There will be collections for Age UK Bristol at their Christmas, Easter and Summer concerts. We are so very happy to be working with such a great local choir. All of the funds raised will go towards our Active Together dementia project, matching volunteers with a person with dementia. The pairs go out weekly and stay active, maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing. This could be anything from swimming to a walk to the local café for a cuppa.

We are looking forward to the Christmas Concert on the 10th December. It is going to be a wonderful evening in such an iconic space. Age UK Bristol will be there on the evening to help with programme sales and to do the retiring collection. We hope to see you there! You can buy tickets online or at the door on the night. Tickets are £15 for reserved tickets in the centre and £10 for unreserved tickets, and you can purchase them via Opus 13 on the links below..

Save the dates for the future events:
Saturday, 30 March 2019 at Clifton Cathedral at 7.45pm. Johannes Brahms A German Requiem.
Saturday, 6 July 2019 at St Peter’s Church, Henleaze. Programme details to follow.
