Join our Big Knit Campaign 2027!

Age UK Bristol is participating in the Innocent Drinks and Age UK Big Knit campaign again this year!Help us reach 20,000 knitted hats for the Big Knit and raise £6,000.

We are aiming to knit 20,000 little hats by October 2027. Each hat is a 30p donation to Age UK Bristol. 20,000 hats means £6,000 in funds for local services for older people.

The Call to Knit is offficially 14th October 2026, but our keen knitters are already steaming ahead to make sure we reach our target!

We'll be letting you know about plenty of community knit-a-thons throughout the campaign, where you can join us for a cuppa, cake and craft!

We need your help!

Do you knit or crochet? Know someone that does? or even want to learn a new hobby? Then we need you!

Find brilliant hat patterns on the Innocent Smoothie website here.

We would love to know if you have taken up the challenge! Send us an email at fundraising@ageukbristol.org.uk and send us photos of your marvelous hats. We love to see your hats on social media, tag us in your posts on instagram and Facebook!

Are you a member of a knitting, community, school or social group that could take up the challenge? Get in touch so we can help you set up your Big Knit session. Check out our downloadable resources at the bottom of this page 👇

The deadline for sending in your hats will be confirmed soon.

Do you need wool or equipment to get started?

Get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to drop some off or you can pick up from us at Withywood Centre. We have a small supply of donated wool available for our supporters to use. Alternatively, if you have any surplus wool, needles or hooks, we would be very happy to take them off your hands, let us know at fundraising@ageukbristol.org.uk.
