Half a million older people go at least five or six days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone at all (Age UK 2016, No-one should have no one). We would like to change that.

The Friends Ageing Better (FAB) is a network of older people in Bristol, run by Age UK Bristol, funded through Bristol Ageing Better. FAB offers free membership to anyone over 50.

Members are invited to local ‘catch up’ cafes where they can meet other people in their communities and find out about activities in their area. As an extra incentive membership card holders are also eligible for rewards and discounts offered by local Bristol businesses.

We are looking for local businesses who would like to support the project. It makes sense for businesses to encourage older people to use their services. There are more than 50,000 older people living in Bristol, the FAB membership is open to all of them. Older people may be happy to use services at ‘quiet times’, during the working week for instance, making this a perfect opportunity for you to enhance your business.

We simply ask businesses to sign up to the scheme and offer a discount or reward to FAB members. It’s free to business and we promote any discounts offered to members across Bristol.

If you would like to sign your business up to offer a discount, please fill this simple form and send it back to us on fab@ageukbristol.org.uk
