Carers Week 2018

logoCarers Week (11th - 17th June 2018) - Healthy and Connected.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but sometimes carers find it challenging to take care of their own well-being whilst caring.

This year's Carers Week is on communities coming together to support the health and wellbeing of carers so that they can stay Healthy and Connected.

 What do carers do?

Around 6.5 million people in the UK are carers, looking after a parent, partner, child or friend. A carer is someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health problem or who needs extra help as they grow older.

This Carers Week we are looking at all the ways we can support carers to stay Healthy and Connected. We want to build communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with health and wellbeing needs of their own.
