Good Neighbour Scheme

Published on 03 April 2018 09:37 AM

Neighbourhood Watch and Age UK Dacorum are introducing a  "Good Neighbour" Scheme for the elderly living in Boxmoor. We invite you to help us introduce it.

Be a good neighbour to the elderly.

Help older people to continue to contribute and be involved in the local community.

Enable them to retain the quality of life and dignity that they deserve in older age.

Volunteers needed.

(A friendly manner and a willingness to help others are all you need!)

DRIVERS and their cars are needed for giving lifts to medical appointments. We ask people to give at least three day's notice. Your expenses can be reimbursed.

Provide simple GARDEN MAINTENANCE.

HOME VISITS – help a housebound person with shopping, collecting prescriptions, or just offer friendship and support to older people who are lonely, perhaps recovering from bereavement.

HELPLINE – be on the rota to take calls and arrange help for older people.

Please contact us if you or anyone else you know in Boxmoor needs help.

For enquiries or to volunteer please call 01442 259049 or fill in the form below.
