Herbert Street- a tale of Hemel Hempstead by David Satchel

Calling all knitters!

Are you able to knit a doll representing NHS or other essential workers that carried on working during the COVID19 lockdown i.e. policeman, fireman, porter, postman, dustman and donate it to us?

We will auction them nearer Christmas to raise funds for Age UK Dacorum.

Knitting Patterns
If you need knitting patterns:
nurse doll

A free Nurse doll knitting pattern by Jean Greenhowe is available for download from The Knitting Network website
doctor doll

'I don't think the UK has appreciated it's NHS more than it does right now in this awful global pandemic. They, among many key-workers are keeping our nation afloat. I made this little doll for anyone who is knitting for a special medical worker in your life and hope you enjoy it. Scrub colours can be changed for the nurse, doctor, carer, or any care professional you want to gift,'  wrote L.T. Marshall in April 20 on her website.

Wool
We are also looking for donation of wool.  If you do not knit please would you consider donating wool for us to give to others who do. Thank you.

Please drop off or send your doll(s) or wool to our office at Half Moon Yard, High Street, Hemel Hempstead, Herts HP1 3AE. Phone 01442 259049 (Leave a message on our answerphone and we will get back to you as soon as we can.) Email us: adminofficer@ageukdacorum.org.uk
