Location:                   Day Clubs at United Reformed Church, Garstang and Rainbow Centre, Morecambe. The position will based at our Lancaster Office

Age UK Lancashire’s Day Clubs provide an invaluable, fun, engaging and safe environment for  adults over the age of 50 where they can connect, engage in enriching activities, and foster their independence and wellbeing. 

Age UK Lancashire is looking for an experienced individual to join us as Service Manager for our Day Clubs for older adults in North Lancashire.  

  • Do you have previous management or supervisory experience within a domiciliary, day care or CQC registered setting?
  • Are you self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude?
  • Are you caring, understanding and able to empathise with service users and their families and carers? 

If so, this role could be for you.

You will oversee and develop our Day Club in Garstang and Morecambe which provides community-based support for older adults and carers.

Working with a small team of Support Workers and volunteers, you will lead by example whilst delivering a safe and effective service. You will be a strong leader, championing our goal of helping older people live as independently as possible in their local community.

Experience running a high-quality service in line with budgets and delivering excellent results, alongside an aptitude for networking with internal and external stakeholders will equip you for supporting the innovation and growth of our service.

This role is best suited to an enthusiastic manager with excellent communication skills who enjoys working in a values-based organisation to improve the lives and make a difference to older people in Lancashire.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Positive, solution focussed and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Experience of delivering services to older adults in health or community-based settings.
  • A track record of establishing effective referral pathways
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Experience of working to and meeting targets
  • Determination to achieve high standards of customer care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and able to manage conflicting priorities
  • Health & Social Care Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience)
