The second Christmas party of the season;
All of our day centre clients in Northampton, Kettering and Towcester can be sure of having a delicious Christmas Dinner with gifts and festive entertainment. The second Christmas Party of the season was held at The William and Patricia Venton Centre on Wednesday 10th December. It was the perfect opportunity for Day Care Co-ordinator Wendie and her staff and volunteers to hand out the gift bags that have been generously donated by Dunelm Wellingborough customers. We are very grateful to Dunelm for choosing to support local older people, not just our day centre clients, as part of their Delivering Joy project.
Robert [pictured above] was thrilled to receive a surprise gift bag from Annica.

Anita and Lesley have become firm friends after meeting recently at the day centre. They were both thrilled with their gifts and said "Please do thank everyone for being so kind."

And we say another big thank you to talented perfomers Stuart and Sheila who are practically our house band. They always put on a fabulous show of jazz standards (and more) that gets everyone swinging!
We will be delivering joy with the gift bags from Dunelm Wellingborough customers throughout December. Thank you again to everyone who has supported this national partnership between Dunelm and Age UK that includes local charities like Age UK Northamptonshire.
For many of our day centre clients their trip to the The William and Patricia Venton Centre is the only time they leave their home in the week, either because of health conditions or they have no family nearby who can take them out. For people who live alone, meeting their friends and our caring staff and volunteers at the day centre is often the highlight of their week.
Please do make a donation if you are able. We would like to expand our day centres so that more people can be supported but we need funding to do so.
