We are proud to provide person-centred care for people living with dementia

Age UK Northamptonshire is delighted to support Alzheimer's Society's 2025 Dementia Action Week, 19th - 25th May 2025.  We join them in continuing to raise awareness of the importance of an early diagnosis for people affected by dementia.

Our day centre in Kettering recognised the week by dressing in blue and holding an open forum with our clients, who were reminded how wonderful they are and where they can get support.  Day Centre Manager Emma Atkins said "We are extremely proud to provide person-centred care for people living with dementia, making it possible for them to continue doing the things they love in a caring and supportive environment.  We tailor our activities and adapt to individual capabilities, interests and needs, from a walk in the garden to physical exercise or simply a cup of tea with friends - all this can enhance well-being and provide a sense of purpose and enjoyment."

Age UK Northamptonshire had an information stand at the Dementia Awareness Event organised by Dementia Nurse Nadia Tobierre at Kettering General Hospital in Kettering on Tuesday 20th May.  We were pleased to meet new people and to be able to provide leaflets and other useful information about the services and support we provide.

Thank you to the new Mayor of Kettering, Councillor Ben Jameson, who also dropped by our information table and picked up plenty of leaflets.
