Special guest in Towcester

"Well, we weren't expecting a donkey!"

Day Care Coordinator Aimie Boyd arranged for an extra special guest to visit our day centre in Towcester on Monday 15th December.  By special arrangement, and thanks to Zarnia, the well behaved donkey was revealed from behind a curtain - to the astonishment of everyone who said they were expecting a jovial man in a red and white suit.

The visit by Defor Donkey (yes, really) topped off a fabulous Christmas party for our clients at Leeson Court.  They had all taken part in a carefully crafted Pantomime "reading performance", which is why they and Aimie and her team were kitted out in Pantomime accessories.

The visit by Defor Donkey was a moment to share.

We cannot thank Zarnia enough for generously bringing Defor to visit us.  

Irene was very proud and pleased with herself for getting up to dance.  She said it has been years since she last danced and she used to love dancing but lost her confidence.  "Irene was thrilled we encouraged her and were there to support if she needed it, but her courage grew like her smile," says Aimie.

An extra round of applause for our volunteers and driver Tom for getting into the Panto spirit and making the day so enjoyable for everyone.
