Unexpected flowers

Thank you to FoodKind CIC for thinking of us
Clients at our day centre in Northampton had enjoyed some gentle physical activities in the morning, a delicious freshly-cooked lunch and a visit from Arlo the Great Dane (belonging to Care Assistant Sarah) when they were unexpectedly treated to a bunch of flowers. Age UK Northamptonshire is doing its bit to help reduce waste by finding a welcome home for the donated flowers from FoodKind CIC, a not-for-profit environmental organisation in Northampton.
Jean, Lynne and Annie [pictured above] said "The flowers are lovely, it's so kind of them. Please do thank them for us."

Thank you to Polly and Tracy for bringing in the buckets of flowers. Wendie, Lamya and Marion will make sure they do not go to waste.

Sheila said how lovely it is to be given flowers. She chose the pink roses straightaway. Christine held the flowers under her chin and joked "Do I like butter?"

Brian, David and David were very pleased to be given some of the flowers. They immediately thought of a lady in their life that they could give them to. David (with yellow flowers) said they would be perfect for his lovely neighbour. The other David said he had a special lady in mind."
This doesn't happen every day at our day centres but thoughtful gestures and generosity from local people does mean that there's always something going on at The William and Patricia Venton Centre, especially over the Christmas period.
