This service helps adult loved ones and families before and after a bereavement.
What does the service offer?
One to one specialist counselling is provided by British Association for Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) registered counsellors.
sAge Bereavement Service offers compassionate information, guidance, and support to individuals facing the emotional journey of grief following a Palliative Care or End of Life diagnosis through to bereavement. This support extends to families, carers, and loved ones over the age of 18.
The service aims to provide a safe and understanding space where individuals can find support to express their emotions, begin to make sense of their grief, and explore healthy ways to cope with the myriad of emotions they may be feeling.
How will it be offered?
sAge Bereavement Service is designed to be flexible and responsive to individual needs and preferences. Support can be offered in a variety of ways, including:
• One-to-one counselling with a qualified and appropriately registered counsellor, available in person, via video call, or over the telephone, depending on the needs of the individual.
• Bereavement Support Groups, provide the opportunity to meet others who are also experiencing grief. These sessions offer support, social connection, shared understanding, and guidance. Each group is facilitated by specially trained staff, focusing on emotional wellbeing and adjusting to life after a significant bereavement.
• Bereavement Support Hubs.
• Individual bereavement support, delivered by specially trained team members, which may include both emotional and practical support depending on personal circumstances and needs following a bereavement.
At its heart, the sAge Bereavement Service is committed to establishing a Bereavement Community offering compassionate support, guidance, and helpful signposting to other resources, and to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their unique grief journey.
