Age UK Norwich are referenced in a Health & Social Care Committee Parliamentary Report about healthy ageing and physical activity, along with other voluntary sector providers. This followed submission of evidence from their Health Coaching, physical activity clubs and Complex Community Support in October 2025.
"Evidence to our inquiry argued that the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector was a vital partner in delivering the aims of the neighbourhood health model and supporting people to age well in their communities. We repeatedly heard that community-based VCSE organisations engaged older people, particularly those most at risk of inactivity and poor health through targeted outreach—often before they presented to health services."
Dan Skipper, Chief Executive Officer said "Physical activity has so many benefits, and we can all play our part in ageing well. But for many reasons, some people struggle, which is where our Health Coaching team handholds this change, giving safe and appropriate exercise and guidance.
This is an approach we're taking as part of Healthy Ageing Norfolk, targeting frailty in Norfolk, working holistically to tackle physical, mental, housing and financial issues that risk ill-health and falls. Our partnership with Norfolk Citizens Advice and Voluntary Norfolk is helping reduce frailty and falls risks. You can find out more at www.healthyageingnorfolk.org.uk
Act Now, Age Better - Age UKs national campaign was also featured with other evidence from local Age UKs who were reporting significant impacts to physical health and wellbeing from their services.
