Volunteers needed in Telford

Befriending volunteer

Published on 26 July 2018 03:08 PM

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is looking for volunteers in Telford.

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available to make a real difference to the lives of older people in Telford. They range from helping out in our dementia support groups and day centres, to volunteering as part of our befriending scheme and running lunch clubs to prevent loneliness and isolation.

Volunteering can be very rewarding and fun, but it can also be challenging. It’s a good way to meet new people and give something back to the community that benefits and enhances the lives of others.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: 'Our services are a lifeline for lonely older people, we really need more volunteers to help older people in our communities to enjoy later life. In return, we provide training, expenses and on-going support to ensure all our volunteers are happy in these vital roles.'

If you would like to help older people living in the Telford area, then please contact Janice Williams in our volunteer recruitment team on 01952 201 803.
