Updated 10 March: Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled.

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin and Shrewsbury School Global Social Leaders are inviting older people to a free community tea party at Shrewsbury School.

The afternoon on 12 March will see guests enjoy entertainment, tea and bingo and is being organised by Shrewsbury School Global Social Leaders (GSL).

Archie Saint, a member of the GSL team, said: ‘The last tea party we put on was a massive success so we are delighted to announce our next event will be on the afternoon of 12 March between 2.00-4.00pm.’

‘We are hoping that about 100 people from the local area will come and join us. As well as afternoon tea, we will have music from the school band, a sing-a-long and some fun games of bingo.’

The tea party will take place at Kingsland Hall, Shrewsbury School.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘We love community events where old and young get together, and this afternoon tea party promises to be a very enjoyable occasion for all involved. A traditional tea party is a great way to meet new people and enjoy some entertainment, nostalgia and fun.’
