Covid recovery appeal

Older people socialising

Published on 25 May 2021 11:17 AM

In our 70th year, Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin has adapted services, created new ones and continued to support older people during the pandemic, but we need your help.

As we follow the roadmap out of lockdown we are now looking to bring back those face to face services so greatly missed by older people. By donating to our recovery appeal you can really make a difference to the lives of older people in your neighbourhood. The funds we need now will be spent restarting vital services such as day centres, dementia services, exercise classes, social groups and so much more.

The pandemic has had a devastating impact on the lives of local older people. Those who are vulnerable and isolated will emerge from lockdown in worse physical and mental health than ever before. We will provide them with the support they need to recover after lockdown and help them regain their confidence and independence.

Donate now

  • £10 enables a volunteer befriender to visit a lonely older person
  • £20 helps an older person receive the benefits they are entitled to
  • £50 provides a stimulating activity for a dementia support group
  • £100 could recruit and provide specialist training to volunteers supporting the most vulnerable.

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is a local charity supporting local older people where you live. Please help us to help them by making a donation via our JustGiving page.

Thank you.
