Shrewsbury residents are invited to enjoy coffee, cake and good company at a special fundraising coffee morning to support local older people.
The event, which is in aid of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, takes place on Thursday 20 August, from 10.30am to 12.00pm, at The Saddlers pub, Whitecroft Road, Shrewsbury.
The Saddlers hosts a monthly coffee morning to support a different local charity or community group, and everyone is welcome to attend this month's event in support of local older people.
The coffee morning is being organised by local residents and charity supporters alongside Margaret, the landlady of The Saddlers. Visitors can enjoy a hot drink and a selection of delicious cakes in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment creating a hub where they can socialise, meet friends or make new ones.
The event will also include a small bring and buy sale, offering another opportunity to raise valuable funds for the charity.
Emma Wilde, Interim Head of Wellbeing & Friendship Services at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, will be available to answer questions about the charity and the wide range of services it provides.
All funds raised from the coffee morning will help Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin continue its work supporting local older people to remain independent, stay connected to their communities and access practical information and support when they need it most.
