Following the success of August’s coffee morning, local people are once again invited to come together for coffee, cake and conversation to support older people in their community.

The next fundraising coffee morning in aid of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin will take place on Thursday 29 October, from 10.30am to 12.00pm, at The Saddlers pub, Whitecroft Road, Shrewsbury.

The Saddlers holds a monthly coffee morning in support of a different local charity or community group, providing an opportunity for people to enjoy a relaxed morning while helping to raise funds for a good cause. Everyone is welcome to drop in, whether to catch up with friends, meet new people or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in a warm and welcoming setting.

Organised by local residents and charity supporters alongside Margaret, the landlady of The Saddlers, the event will also feature a small Bring & Buy Sale, giving visitors another way to support Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.

Emma Wilde, Interim Head of Wellbeing & Friendship Services at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, will be at the coffee morning to chat with visitors, answer questions and share information about the charity’s services and the support available to local older people.

Every penny raised will help Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin continue its work helping older people across the local area to live independently, remain connected and access practical information, advice and support when they need it.
