Quiz lovers invited to support dementia services

Local residents are invited to put their general knowledge to the test at a fun-filled fundraising pub quiz in aid of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s dementia services in Telford.
Organised by dedicated volunteers Martha and Paul Wallace, the event will take place at Hadley United Club on Friday 3 July. Doors open from 7.00pm and the quiz will start at 7.30pm. The entry fee is £2 per person.
Teams of up to six people are encouraged to take part in the friendly competition, which will feature eight exciting quiz rounds covering a variety of topics. Alongside the chance to claim the cash prize for the winning team, guests will also have opportunities to win prizes in a raffle during the evening. A bar will be available at the venue, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Martha Wallace, who has volunteered with the charity for more than ten years, said: “We wanted to organise something that brings people together for a really enjoyable evening while also supporting an incredibly important local cause. Dementia affects so many families across Telford, and the services provided by Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin offer friendship, support and reassurance to people who need it most. We’re hoping for a fantastic turnout and plenty of friendly competition on the night!”
Martha’s husband Paul joined her as a volunteer seven years ago, and together the pair continue to support the charity’s work across the local community.
Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin runs dementia services in Donnington, Oakengates and Ketley Bank, providing emotional support, information and social opportunities for people living with dementia and their families in safe and welcoming settings. Visitors to the sessions can expect a friendly atmosphere, the opportunity to meet others and share experiences, as well as fun and engaging activities. The charity also offers people the chance to learn more about dementia and ask questions in a supportive environment.
