The Age UK Surrey Gardening Service is designed to help you continue enjoying your garden without the strain of routine chores. Whether your garden is large or small, we are here to take the hard work off your hands so you can simply sit back and appreciate your outdoor space.
How the Age UK Surrey Gardening Service works
At Age UK Surrey we believe in a personal touch, so we will match you with a regular gardener who will visit you every time. How often they visit and how long they stay is entirely up to your needs, preferences, and the changing seasons.
Your peace of mind is incredibly important to us. Every gardener on our register has been interviewed by us, has provided reliable references, and has passed a full DBS check. They also hold public liability insurance before they can start working with our clients.
If for any reason you are not happy with the service, or if your gardener leaves, we will find a suitable replacement for you. Should your gardener let you know they are taking an extended break or holiday, just get in touch with us and we will do our very best to find someone to cover for them while they are away.
What our gardeners can help you with
The Age UK Surrey Gardening Service offers regular visits to keep your garden looking its best. Our gardeners can help with basic, routine tasks such as:
• Mowing and edging lawns
• Weeding and tidying flowerbeds
• Planting and pruning
• Trimming low hedges
Our gardeners are flexible and can use your own tools, or they can bring their own along with them.
Please note that our regular subscription service does not cover heavy, one-off tasks such as fencing, hard landscaping, tree surgery, or garden waste removal. However, if you do need a specialist one-off job completed, please give our office team a call and we will be happy to talk through your options.
At Age UK Surrey, we are here to support you
If you have any questions or concerns at any stage - including anything you would prefer not to discuss with your gardener directly - please give us a call. Our office team is here to support you Monday to Friday during office hours.
We will also keep in touch with you from time to time to ensure you are happy with everything. If there are any other ways Age UK Surrey can support you, we will gladly connect you with our other services, such as our free Information and Advice line on 01483 503414.
Cost of the Gardening Service
• The Gardener's Rate: Our gardeners are self-employed, and you pay them directly on the day of each visit. The current hourly rate is between £20 and £25.
• The Service Fee: There is an annual, non-refundable service fee of £150 payable to Age UK Surrey, which is collected by Direct Debit.
• Cancellations: We ask for one month's notice if you wish to cancel the service, though you have the right to cancel at any time within the first 14 days of signing up.

Once we receive your completed forms, we will begin looking for the right gardener for you and will be in touch as soon as we have found a suitable match.
