Self Employed Gardener

Hours: Flexible hours according to availability

Salary: From £18 per hour, depending on location

Location: Across Brighton and Hove and all of West Sussex

If you are interested in working in your local community and supporting older people to live more independently, this could be the role for you. You’ll be helping older people maintain and enjoy their outdoor spaces, enabling them to continue taking pride in their gardens.

Your Role as a Gardener

A well‑kept garden can be a place of peace and enjoyment, but for many older people maintaining one becomes difficult. That’s where you come in. Your role will include:

  • General garden maintenance – mowing, weeding, pruning, tidying and planting
  • Creating a safe and relaxing space – enabling older people to enjoy their gardens again
  • Making a meaningful impact – supporting pride, comfort, and confidence in their home environment

This is a self‑employed role, and you will be responsible for your own Tax and National Insurance payments, as well as providing your own gardening tools and public liability insurance. You will also receive ongoing support from our office team to help you succeed.
