Age UK Bristol Launches 2025 ‘What’s On Guide’ for Over-50s
Age UK Bristol has unveiled its brand-new What’s On Guide 2025-26, a packed directory of activities, events, and opportunities designed to help people aged 50 and over stay active, connected, and inspired across the city.
Funded by The Dolphin Society, the guide highlights the importance of maintaining physical and mental wellbeing in later life. With sections covering everything from arts and crafts, music, theatre, digital skills, and social groups to exercise, nature walks, and dementia-friendly events, there is truly something for everyone.
The comprehensive guide is organised by area—Inner City & East, North & West, and South Bristol—making it easy to find activities close to home. There is also a What’s On at Home section for those who prefer online sessions or need accessible options.
One of the guide’s standout features is its focus on inclusivity. Symbols show at a glance whether activities are wheelchair accessible, dementia-friendly, or provide facilities such as accessible toilets, hearing loops, or nearby bus routes.
Age UK Bristol also showcases its Friends Ageing Better (FAB) network, which offers free membership, weekly cafés, Tai Chi classes, phone groups, and even a 50+ disco. By joining FAB, older people can receive a monthly newsletter and access special members-only offers.
“We want to change the way we age,” said Kay Libby, CEO for Age UK Bristol. “This guide is about helping older people remain independent, socially connected, and engaged with the city they live in.”
The What’s On Guide 2025-26 is free to access, both in print and online, and is already being described as a vital resource for anyone looking to make new friends, learn new skills, or simply enjoy life to the fullest.
